National AIDS Fund Raising Conference

The fourth annual National AIDS Fund Raising Conference will be held in Washington, DC, on April 24–26, at the Washington Marriott Hotel. The conference is the only one which focuses on fund raising for AIDS organizations.

Techniques on direct mail, fund raising strategies, board planning, and organizational development for fund raising are featured at this event. Those primarily involved in the fund raising activities of any size AIDS organization are encouraged to attend.

The conference is coordinated by Larry Biddle of Action AIDS, Philadelphia, PA, and Margaret Holman, HPM, Inc., New York, NY. Members of the national program planning committee include: The Reverend Ted Karpf, executive director of NEAC, and Hart Roussel, NEAC Board member and executive director of the Episcopal Caring Response to AIDS, Washington, DC.

On Friday evening, April 25, Lucie Cunningham McKinney, chair of the Stewart B. McKinney Foundation, will be honored. 1997 marks the 10th anniversary of the McKinney Act for the Homeless. Under this federal program, health care and new opportunities have been provided for homeless people across America.

The cost of the Awards Dinner is covered by the conference fee. June Osborn, former chair of the National Commission on AIDS and President of the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation of New York, will be the keynote speaker.
