Annual AIDS Retreat
Kanuga Event Features Bishop Shaw
The Right Reverend Tom Shaw, SSJE, Bishop of Massachusetts and chair of the Episcopal Church Commission on AIDS, is the retreat leader for the annual Kanuga Retreat on AIDS. The retreat is entitled, “Seeing God in the Face of HIV/AIDS.” Kevin Hackett, a member of the Community of Celebration, will be the music leader.
The Retreat will be held on the weekend of June 27-29, at Kanuga Conference Center, located in Hendersonville, NC, just outside of Asheville. “The center is located in the midst of beautiful mountains, and affords opportunities for relaxing, hiking, swimming, or simply breathing the fresh mountain air,” according to the Retreat brochure.
The weekend begins on Friday at 6:30 pm with dinner and concludes with lunch at 1 pm on Sunday. Throughout the weekend there will be time for prayer, reflection, sharing and healing.
The Retreat is open to anyone. The cost is $145 for room and board. Retreatants will share housing in cabins or at the conference center.
A limited number of scholarships are available for room and board. For further information contact:
