Council of Religious AIDS Networks

by Bill Frampton

Bill FramptonThe board of directors of the Council of Religious AIDS Networks (CRAN) met in Cleveland in early August, immediately after General Convention. Representatives from the Roman Catholic Church, the United Church of Christ, Dignity USA, the Presbyterian Church, the Disciples of Christ, and the Episcopal Church were all present.

The mission of the council is to be an open and respectful forum that empowers and mobilizes prophetic witness and ministries by faith communities in response to the global HIV/AIDS pandemic.

CRAN agreed to organize and offer a one-day faith-based symposium in Philadelphia in September 2004 before the US Conference on AIDS, which will be held there next year. Persons wishing to offer ideas for this event are encouraged to contact me at Revbillfr@aol.com.

The next meeting of the CRAN Board will be February 2004 in Las Vegas, NV.
