YOUTH NEED YOUR HELP! Free HIV Educational Resource Available
Youth Ministry in the Age of AIDS
The rate of HIV infection among youth continues to rise, but you CAN do something. A complete resource for addressing HIV education for youth grades 6–12 is now available.
Youth Ministry in the Ages of AIDS (2nd edition) provides information for adults about the risks that adolescents face and offers easy-to-use lessons for opening a dialogue with young people about HIV. This resource is guided by the resolutions of the General Convention of the Episcopal Church to promote abstinence and monogamy as well as to offer instruction on disease prevention through AIDS education in every congregation. It provides guidelines for educational experiences rooted in the Baptismal Covenant that can help youth feel empowered to make responsible Christian choices.
You can get a free single copy for your congregation by writing Gary Williams at gwilliams@episcopalchurch.org or calling Youth Ministries at 800.334.7626, ext. 6257. Other copies are available through Episcopal Parish Services for a handling fee of $5.00. When ordering from Episcopal Parish Services, call 800.903.5544 and request item number 80-0101.
This educational resource was produced by The Ministries with Young People Cluster of the Episcopal Church Center and coordinated by Elizabethe C. Payne, Ph.D., educational coordinator for NEAC. Its production was funded through a generous grant from United Thank Offering.
